Course Overview

What's Inside

Getting Started With ChatGPT – From First Steps to Confident Adoption

This beginner-friendly course gives you a clear, practical path for learning how to use ChatGPT in your daily life and at work. Instead of guessing your way through AI, you’ll learn the three core pillars that make adoption simple: Utilization, Optimization, and Adoption.

We begin with Utilization, where you learn the basics: how to create an account, navigate chats, understand what AI can and cannot do, and ask better questions using simple prompt-engineering techniques. You’ll see how ChatGPT learns from context, how not to reset your progress by constantly hitting “New Chat,” and how to avoid common misconceptions—like thinking Google results are always reliable or assuming AI already knows what you mean without details.

Next, we move into Optimization, where the tool becomes genuinely useful. You’ll set up your personalization profile, define your tone, add details about your work and life, and configure ChatGPT so it behaves the way you want it to. You’ll explore settings for voice, tone, notifications, parental controls, data controls, and Multi-Factor Authentication to secure your account. You’ll also discover how connections work—linking apps like Google Calendar, Gmail, Canva, and Booking.com to create real-world efficiency. Optimization shows you how to reduce friction, shorten prompts, and build context that makes ChatGPT feel tailor-made for you.

From there, you’ll put theory into action through guided Practice. These hands-on activities include setting up your free or paid account, exploring specialized GPTs, adjusting your global instructions, and experimenting with app connections. You’ll build projects—dedicated workspaces for anything from travel planning to music production to daily organization. You'll learn how to refine instructions so ChatGPT can give you richer answers with less prompting, and how to revisit your setup quarterly as your needs change.

Finally, you’ll take the first steps toward Adoption—the point where ChatGPT becomes a natural part of your workflow. You’ll understand when to use projects versus New Chat, how to build routines, how to simplify your prompts through personalization, and how to develop confidence in using AI as a helper for planning, creation, research, writing, automation, emotional processing, and problem solving. Adoption is where this stops being “learning a tool” and starts becoming “owning your process.”

Throughout the course, you’ll get short lectures, practical demonstrations, quizzes to reinforce learning, and suggested 10–15 minute exercises that build real skill—not just head knowledge. This course is designed for normal people, not engineers. No jargon. No overwhelm. Just clear guidance, real examples, and the support you need.

Whether you’re here to improve your personal productivity, automate tasks at work, explore creativity, strengthen decision-making, or simply understand AI without fear, this course will help you use ChatGPT with confidence, clarity, and purpose.

I too am a lifelong learner, so I invite your feedback, updates, and questions.
