Phlare – Zoom Integration Guide

1. Adding the App

Follow these steps to connect your Zoom account with Phlare:

  • Log in to your Phlare account.
  • Navigate to Office Hours.
  • Click Connect Zoom Account.
  • You’ll be redirected to Zoom’s authorization page.
  • Review the requested permissions and click Allow.
  • Once connected, your Zoom account will be linked, and you’ll be able to create and manage meetings directly from Phlare.

2. Using the App For Instructor

After adding the Zoom integration, you can use it in the following ways:

  • Go to Office Hours.
  • Choose a date, time, and duration.
  • Click Schedule Time.

3. Using the App For Student

  • Open the Course Detail page.
  • Select a date from calendar and click on book office hour slot.
  • A modal appear select the slot and book it.
  • On success zoom meeting generated for that slot's professor.
  • Both Parties receive email for zoom meeting.

4. Removing the App

If you no longer wish to use Zoom with Phlare:

  1. Log in to your Phlare.
  2. Go to Office Hours.
  3. Click Disconnect Zoom Account.

5. Implications of Removal

  • You will no longer be able to create office hour slots.
  • Existing scheduled Zoom meetings remain in Zoom but will not sync with our system anymore.

6. Data Handling After Removal

  • Any Zoom tokens stored in our system will be deleted immediately.
  • Bookings remain in Phlare, but Zoom links will no longer be valid.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Problem: Can’t connect Zoom account
  • Ensure you’re using the correct Zoom login.
  • Check that you have the required Zoom plan (if applicable).
  • Problem: Meeting not appearing in Zoom
  • Refresh your Phlare dashboard.
  • Verify that your Zoom integration is still active.
  • Problem: Student didn’t receive link
  • Check spam folder.
  • Confirm that email address is correct in profile.

Q: Do I need a paid Zoom account?

A: No, a free Zoom account works. However, free accounts are limited to 40-minute group meetings.

Q: Can students connect their Zoom accounts?

A: No, only instructors need to connect Zoom.
