Full Step‑by‑Step

Step 1: Prep your assets (before opening the dashboard)
You should prepare your assets before opening the dashboard. This includes your video files, which should be MP4/H.264 format with 1080p resolution and clear audio. You’ll also need a course thumbnail that is at least 1280×720 in landscape orientation, along with any downloadable resources such as PDFs, slides, code, or datasets. Finally, while optional, adding a promo video clip is highly recommended because it can significantly increase conversions.

Step 2: Sign in and open the Instructor Dashboard
From the top navigation, sign in with your instructor account, then click on your avatar or profile to open the Instructor Dashboard. Once inside, navigate to the Courses section and click Create Course to begin building your class.

Step 3: Course Basics
When setting up your course, start with a clear and outcome-oriented title and subtitle. Avoid jargon and make sure the value is front-loaded so learners instantly see what they will gain. Next, choose the category and level that best match your course content, making sure the difficulty is realistic. Specify the primary spoken language of your lessons to set clear expectations for learners. In the “What you’ll learn” section, include four to eight crisp bullet points, each describing a concrete skill that students will gain. Your description should be between 150 and 300 words, highlighting who the course is for, any prerequisites, the type of hands-on work involved, and the overall outcomes. Be sure to list all requirements or prerequisites explicitly, such as tools, accounts, or prior knowledge needed to succeed. For your thumbnail, use high-contrast text and imagery that remain legible on mobile devices. Finally, consider adding a promo video between 30 and 90 seconds long, focusing on the outcomes students will achieve and showcasing one or two compelling clips from the course.

Step 4: Build Your Curriculum
Build your course by first adding sections, which act as modules, and then filling each section with individual lessons. Lessons can take different forms, including video, text or article, quizzes and assessments, and downloadable resources. Keep your video lessons focused, ideally five to ten minutes long, and use action verbs when naming them so that learners know exactly what they will accomplish. To maintain engagement and reinforce learning, include checkpoints such as quick knowledge checks or mini-tasks every two to three lessons.

Step 5: Pricing & Monetization
Set a list price that reflects both the depth of your course content and the target audience you want to reach. The price should align with the level of detail, value, and outcomes offered, while remaining accessible and competitive for your intended learners.

Step 6: Captions
After you’ve set your pricing, upload all of your video content to the platform and make sure captions are enabled. You can provide captions in any language to improve accessibility and help your course reach a broader audience.

Step 7: Promotions
This is the step where you can create a custom coupon code for your specific course. Sharing this code allows you to promote your course directly, and when learners enroll through your code, you receive 97% of the revenue from that traffic.

Step 8: Course Messaging
Set up a welcome message that greets students as soon as they join your course, giving them any key information or guidance they need to get started smoothly. Once learners finish the course, create a congratulatory message to celebrate their achievement, acknowledge their effort, and encourage them to apply what they’ve learned or continue exploring related topics.

Step 9: Submit Your Course for Review
Submit your course for review once everything is complete. Our team will carefully check your content, and you can expect the review process to take up to 24 hours.

Step 10: Publish your Course to the Marketplace
After your course is approved, you can publish it to the Marketplace so it becomes visible to learners and available for enrollment.
